Preliminary Construction Agreement

Using the information gathered from our site evaluation, our next step in the process is the Preliminary Construction Agreement (PCA). The construction agreement lays out a schedule for the delivery of preliminary plans, preliminary scope of work and preliminary cost estimate that go with them. The benefit of having a PCA is a single point of responsibility for quality, cost, and schedule adherence. This increases the likelihood that the clients will ultimately realize their goal of a beautiful custom design that fits within a realistic budget. We will work together as a team to define the broad conceptual ideas of the project.

• First step is a design meeting to start developing the preliminary floor plan drawings to portray your list of objectives in a visual format.
• From the plans, a preliminary scope of work which will describe your wants, wishes and goals in a written format will be developed.
• Determining finishes for such things as flooring, moldings, exterior siding and roofing.
• The selection sheet of the project is developed and defines all the details of the work to be done such as material selections, sizes and quantity.
• A preliminary cost estimate will be developed based on the preliminary scope of work and preliminary floor plans.
